A jazz band: six performers ‘play’ two pieces by Archie Shepp, Damn If I Know and New Africa. The musicians and their instruments become one. The bass drives the performance, together with the drums, forming its foundation. Trumpet and trombone remain closely connected. The saxophone takes the lead in a solo, while the piano offers direction.
