Dialoog met een Beeld is the beginning of a series of performances in which I engage in dialogue with sculptures in public space. Through the site-specific performances I create, I aim to re-activate places in the Netherlands and give them renewed meaning. For this project, I focus on sculptures in Amsterdam from the post-war reconstruction period — works that were once of great significance but have since faded from collective memory.

The sculptures in Siegerpark were created by important sculptors of the post-war reconstruction period. They were acquired at the time by Willem Sandberg, then director of the Stedelijk Museum, who led the museum from 1945 to 1963. Sandberg had an eye for experimentation and established the Stedelijk as an international museum for modern art. In 1998, the sculptures were placed in Siegerpark. Few people know of the existence of the park, let alone the sculptures it contains.
